DISCLOSURE OF ACQUISITION OF SECURITIES IN PICK N PAY STORES LIMITED


In accordance with section 122(3)(b) of the Companies Act and section 3.83(b) of the JSE
Listings Requirements, shareholders are advised that Sanlam Investment Management (Pty)
Ltd, acting as agent of its clients, has acquired further shares in the Company and its total
beneficial interest now amounts to 5.03% of the total number of shares in issue.
Formal notification has been received from Sanlam Investment Management (Pty) Ltd and
Pick n Pay Stores Limited has filed the required notice with the Takeover Regulation Panel.
The board of the Company accepts responsibility for the information contained in this
