CHANGE IN AUDITOR
Shareholders are advised that at the Annual General Meeting of Astoria shareholders held on Friday, 15 May 2020,
the resolution for the appointment of Ernst & Young Mauritius as the Company’s external auditors and Mr Roger de
Chazal as the designated audit partner, was approved.
The Audit Committee of Astoria, after following the process set out in paragraph 3.84(g)(iii) of the JSE Listings
Requirements, recommended the appointment of Ernst & Young Mauritius and Mr Roger de Chazal, as the designated
audit partner. Mr Roger de Chazal from Ernst & Young Mauritius will be the designated lead partner and Ms Cornea
De Villiers from Ernst & Young South Africa will be the designated partner to act on JSE matters.
The board of directors of Astoria (“Board”) has accordingly appointed Ernst & Young Mauritius as the Group’s external
auditor, as a replacement for KPMG Mauritius, to hold office until the conclusion of the Company’s next Annual
General Meeting in 2021. The Board is of the view that the change of external auditors is appropriate given the current
shareholding of Astoria.
The appointment of Ernst & Young Mauritius takes effect on 15 May 2020 and the retirement of KPMG Mauritius is
effective from 15 May 2020.
The Board thanks KPMG Mauritius for their services over the 5 years.
