CAUTIONARY ANNOUNCEMENT

Shareholders of the Company are advised that it has come to the attention of the board of
directors of the Company (“the Board”) that African Equity Empowerment Investments
Limited (“AEEI”), who holds [56%] of the shares in the Company, has indicated that it is
about to make a firm intention to make an offer to acquire all of the ordinary shares in the
Company not held by AEEI and shareholders acting in concert with AEEI. Whilst this does
not at present constitute a firm intention to make a firm offer or offers in terms of the
Companies Act, 2008 (Act 71 of 2008) at this stage, shareholders of the Company are
urged to exercise caution in dealing in their shares in the Company until such time as
further announcements in this regard are made.

The Board, individually and collectively, accepts responsibility for the information
contained in this announcement insofar as it relates to Company. In addition, the Board
confirms that, to the best of its knowledge and belief, the information contained in this
announcement, as it relates to the Company, is true and correct and, where appropriate,
does not omit anything that is likely to affect the importance of the information contained
