In compliance with paragraph 3.83(b) of the JSE Listings Requirements, shareholders are advised
that Gemfields received formal notification on 5 October 2022 of a change of major holdings from
Rozendal Associate Holdings (Rational Expectations Ltd). Following Gemfields’ issuance and
allocation of 20,144,730 new ordinary shares on 5 October 2022, Rozendal Associate Holdings’
total positions reduced from 10.03 per cent of voting rights to 9.96 per cent of voting rights. The
total number of shares held by Rozendal Associate Holdings is unchanged, holding a total of
120,094,065 ordinary shares.
Rozendal Associate Holdings’ completed TR-1 form has been released separately.

Gemfields is a world-leading supplier of responsibly sourced coloured gemstones. Gemfields is the
operator and 75% owner of both the Kagem emerald mine in Zambia (believed to be the world’s
single largest producing emerald mine) and the Montepuez ruby mine in Mozambique (one of the
most significant recently discovered ruby deposits in the world). In addition, Gemfields also holds
controlling interests in various other gemstone mining and prospecting licenses in Zambia,
Mozambique, Ethiopia and Madagascar.

- enables Gemfields to optimise positioning, perception and consumer awareness of coloured
