Notification made in accordance with Disclosure Rule 3.1.4R(1)(a) of the        
Disclosure and Transparency Rules.                                              
The Company was notified on 18 August 2010 that on 18 August 2010 Mr J P Daly, a
person discharging managerial responsibilities, sold 23,144 British American    
Tobacco p.l.c. shares (the "Shares") at a price of 2237.4 pence per Share.      
Following this transaction, Mr Daly has a total beneficial and family interest  
in 30,886 Shares (including 29,624 Deferred Shares).                            
The Company was notified on 19 August 2010 that on 18 August 2010 a person      
connected with Mrs K M A de Segundo, a Non-Executive Director of British        
American Tobacco p.l.c., sold 2,050 British American Tobacco p.l.c. shares (the 
"Shares") at a price of 2238.125 pence per Share. The Shares were registered in 
a designated account with Chase Nominees.                                       
Following this transaction, Mrs de Segundo has a beneficial and family interest 
in the Company of 2,000 Shares.
