DECLARED INTERIM DIVIDEND ANNOUNCEMENT ON MTN GROUP LIMITED HOT ENHANCED DIVIDEND SECURITIES –
(“MTNIHN”)

With reference to the dividend announcement, the Directors of MTN Group Limited have declared an interim
dividend of 250 cents per ordinary share payable on Monday, 29 August 2016, to ordinary shareholders and
recorded in the books of the company at the close of business on Friday, 26 August 2016.

In terms of the new Dividend Tax effective 1 April 2012, the following additional information is disclosed:

1)   maximum local dividend tax rate is 15%;
2)   net local dividend amount per share for the respective categories of shareholders for the different dividend tax
     rates is as follows:
            0% -      250.00 cents per share
            5% -      237.50 cents per share
            7.5% - 231.25 cents per share
            10% - 225.00 cents per share
            12.5% - 218.75 cents per share
            15% - 212.50 cents per share;
3)   the issued share capital of MTN Group Limited is 1,844,049,073 ordinary shares;
4)   MTN Group Limited tax reference number 9692/942/71/8; and
5)   Investec Bank Limited tax reference number is 9675/053/71/5.

Accordingly, the holders of MTNIHN will receive an MTN Group Limited dividend amount per security on Monday,
29 August 2016, in terms of the Cession clause incorporated in the Supplement between the holders and Investec
Bank Limited. The last day to trade (“cum” the dividend) in order to participate in the dividend will be Tuesday, 23
August 2016.

MTNIHN Hot Enhanced Dividend Securities will commence trading “ex” the dividend from the commencement of
business on Wednesday, 24 August 2016, and the record date will be Friday, 26 August 2016.
