MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITY OR CONNECTED PERSONS

Notification made in accordance with Disclosure Rule 3.1.4R(1)(a) of the Disclosure
Rules and Transparency Rules.

The Company was notified on 8 August 2013 by the trustee of the British American
Tobacco Employee Share Ownership Plan that on 7 August 2013 the following
executive director and other persons discharging managerial responsibility (together
the “Participants”) had purchased ordinary shares of 25p each in British American
Tobacco p.l.c. (the “Shares”) by way of the Partnership Share Scheme at a price of
3,459.75 pence per Share.
