UNTIMELY PASSING OF A DIRECTOR

It is with deep regret that the Board of Eastern Platinum Limited learned of the sudden passing of Mr.
Zwelakhe Sisulu on 4th October. Mr. Sisulu was the lead member of our empowerment partnership as
well as a director of Eastplats since 2009.

David Cohen, Chairman of Eastplats, commented, "On behalf of the entire Eastplats community, I
would like to express our heartfelt condolences to Zwelakhe’s family. Zwelakhe was a distinguished and
respected South African businessman. We are grateful to have had the privilege to work with Zwelakhe,
who for many years provided an invaluable contribution to the Company as the South African mining
industry has transformed. He will be deeply missed by us, by business associates and by the community
at large."
