CHANGES TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
In compliance with paragraph 3.59 of the JSE Listings Requirements, shareholders are advised that Mr
Herschel Mayers has been appointed as an independent non-executive director of Sygnia with effect from 1
January 2021.
Mr Mayers qualified as an actuary in 1986 and on leaving Liberty Life, where he served on its executive
committee, he joined Discovery in 2000 as managing director of Discovery Life. Before his recent retirement,
Mr Mayers had served as the chief executive officer of Discovery Life and Discovery Invest, as well as chief
executive officer of VitalityLife and VitalityInvest in the UK. The Sygnia board looks forward to his strategic
contribution to the Company.
Shareholders are further advised that Ms Ropfiwa Sithubi has resigned as a non-executive director of the
Company with effect from 31 December 2020 in order to return to the auditing profession, which precludes
her from serving as a non-executive director.
The Sygnia board expresses its sincere thanks to Ms Sithubi for her services to the Company and wishes her
well in her future endeavours. The Company will announce her replacement in due course.
