CLOUGH SELECTED AS HEAD CONTRACTOR FOR THE LOMBRUM INFRASTRUCTURE
PROJECT IN PAPUA NEW GUINEA
Murray & Roberts is pleased to announce that Clough has been selected as head contractor for the
construction of the Lombrum Infrastructure Project (Main Works) in Papua New Guinea (“PNG”), a joint
initiative of the Australian and PNG Governments to redevelop the Lombrum Naval Base.
The circa R2,5 billion scope of work was developed and agreed in consultation with the Papua New
Guinea Defence Force and has been designed to benefit the local community and includes the
construction, support, maintenance, and repair services of the Lombrum Naval Base, located in Manus
Province, PNG. Clough has delivered projects in PNG for over 35 years.
The Murray & Roberts’ Energy, Resources & Infrastructure platform trades under the Clough brand, a
brand associated with providing project service excellence for more than 100 years on large and
technically and logistically challenging projects in the energy, resources and infrastructure industries.
The platform has done well by specifically establishing a good market position in the specialist
infrastructure and resources growth sectors, with both sectors expected to remain buoyant over the next
decade.
