Trading Statement

In terms of the JSE Limited Listings Requirements, companies are required to publish a trading
statement as soon as they are reasonably certain that the financial results for the current reporting
period will be more than 20% different than those of the prior comparative period.

In this regard, shareholders are advised that, for the six months ended 31 December 2022, the
Company expects to report:

    •   basic and diluted earnings per share (“EPS”) and headline earnings per share (“HEPS”) of
        between 16.0 cents and 17.8 cents, representing an increase in EPS and HEPS of between
        371% and 402% compared to EPS and HEPS loss of 5.9 cents for the six months ended 31
        December 2021 (“HY2022”);
    •   HEPS, excluding the once-off settlement received for the Covid-19 business interruption
        claims would have been between 12.6 cents and 14.5 cents, representing an increase in HEPS
        of between 314% and 345% compared to HEPS loss of 5.9 cents for HY2022.

HEPS, excluding the once-off settlement received for the Covid-19 business interruption claims, is the
responsibility of the directors of City Lodge, has been prepared for illustrative purposes and because
of its nature, may not fairly represent City Lodge’s financial position.

Shareholders are advised that the information on which this trading statement is based has not been
reviewed or reported on by the Company’s auditors. City Lodge’s results for the six months ended 31
December 2022 will be released on SENS on or about 24 February 2023.
