Tuesday, 3 August 2010. Harmony Gold Mining Company Limited ("HarmonY") announces that Frank Abbott, executive director, has retired at the end of July 2010 after a long association with Harmony to pursue personal interests. Frank continued to serve on Harmony`s Board as an executive director responsible for strategic planning after he handed over his financial director responsibilities to Hannes Meyer on 1 November 2009. Frank has agreed to remain on Harmony`s Board of Directors as a non-executive director with effect from 1 August 2010. Harmony`s Chief Executive Officer, Graham Briggs says, "It certainly saddens us that Frank has retired after many years of making valuable contributions to Harmony. Frank has played a key role in the success of this company and we wish him well in his retirement. We are pleased however, that he will continue to add value to Harmony as a non-executive director."
