Johannesburg, 24 October 2002:  Shareholders were advised on SENS on Tuesday, 22
October 2002 of dealings in Italtile shares by Mr G Ravazzotti, Chairman of     
Italtile Ltd.  This announcement was not made timeously in accordance with JSE  
regulations.                                                                    
Shareholders are advised that Mr Ravazzotti did notify the company of the       
transactions in good time and in accordance with listings requirements.  The    
fact that the trades were not timeously reported to the JSE is due to a clerical
oversight on the part of the company`s secretarial department, and is in no way 
a reflection on Mr Ravazzotti`s integrity.  His dealings were conducted         
transparently and appropriately.                                                
The company has brought this matter to the attention of the JSE.                
Mr P D Swatton, Chief Financial Officer, accepts responsibility for the error   
and apologises to all stakeholders.
