OPERATIONAL UPDATE AND FURTHER CAUTIONARY ANNOUNCEMENT

UPDATE ON MOZAMBIQUE SUGAR OPERATIONS

Shareholders are advised that the recent rains and flooding caused by tropical cyclone Freddy
has had an impact on the Company’s Mozambique sugar operations.

The extent of the damage is still not assessed due to high water levels across the Xinavane
Estate. The impact on the Mafambisse Estate is minimal. The extent of the financial impact of
the aforementioned events on the Mozambique business has not been quantified yet.

Shareholders will be updated and further announcement will be made once further details and
information become available.

FURTHER CAUTIONARY ANNOUNCEMENT

Shareholders are referred to the previous cautionary and renewal of cautionary
announcements, the last of which was released on SENS on 23 February 2023. Tongaat
Hulett’s shares remain suspended on the JSE and shareholders are advised to continue to
exercise caution in relation to the Company’s securities until a further announcement is made.
