TONGAAT HULETT: RESIGNATION OF NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR                           
Shareholders are advised that Dr Vincent Maphai has resigned as an              
independent non-executive director of Tongaat Hulett with effect from 8 March   
2011.                                                                           
Noting that Dr Maphai`s resignation was as a result of other increasing         
business commitments as well as his involvement on the National Planning        
Commission, the Tongaat Hulett Board accepted the resignation and expressed     
its gratitude for his contribution as a director of the company.
