Deferment of the payment of the special ordinary dividend
Shareholders are referred to the announcement in respect of the declaration of a special
ordinary dividend of 55.90000 cents per ordinary share released on SENS on 23 November
2022 (“Declaration Announcement”) subject to the applicable dividends tax levied in terms
of the Income Tax Act (Act 58 of 1962) (as amended).
The Declaration Announcement stated that the special ordinary dividend is subject to
Exchange Control approval by the South African Reserve Bank. Shareholders are now
advised that Exchange Control approval has not been obtained as at the finalisation date of
Monday, 5 December 2022 as set out in the Declaration Announcement and the payment of
the special ordinary dividend has been deferred.
A further announcement setting out updated salient dates for the payment of the special
ordinary dividend will be released once Exchange Control approval has been obtained.
