DECLARED A SECOND INTERIM DIVIDEND ANNOUNCEMENT ON BRITISH AMERICAN TOBACCO PLC HOT ENHANCED
DIVIDEND SECURITIES – (“BTIIHH”)


With reference to the dividend announcement, the Directors of British American Tobacco Plc have recommended
an interim dividend of 43.6 pence per ordinary share payable on Tuesday, 08 February 2018 to ordinary
shareholders, recorded in the books of the company at the close of business on Friday, 29 December 2018.

The currency exchange rate applicable for the dividend is GBP: ZAR = 18.04050 as at 13 December 2017, this
results in an equivalent interim gross dividend of 786.56580 South African cents per ordinary share

In terms of the Dividend Tax effective 22 February 2017, the following additional information is disclosed:

1)   local dividend tax rate is 20%;
2)   net local dividend amount is 629.25264 South African cents per share for shareholders liable to pay the
     Dividends Tax and 786.56580 South African cents per share for shareholders exempt from paying the Dividends
     Tax;
3)   the issued share capital of British American Tobacco Plc is 2, 456, 274, 793 ordinary shares;
4)   the British American Tobacco Plc tax reference number is 9378193172; and
5)   Investec Bank Limited tax reference number is 9675/053/71/5.


Accordingly, the holders of BTIIHH will receive a dividend amount per ordinary share on Tuesday, 08 February 2017
in terms of the Cession clause incorporated in the Supplement between the holders and Investec Bank Limited.
The last day to trade (“cum” the dividend) in order to participate in the dividend will be Friday, 22 December 2017.

BTIIHH Hot Enhanced Dividend Securities will commence trading “ex” the dividend from the commencement of
business on Wednesday, 27 December 2017, and the record date will be Friday, 29 December 2017.
