Sappi Limited has today issued its annual report for the year ended September   
2003.  Sappi is not publishing an abridged report as the information in the     
annual report is unchanged from that which was published previously in the      
preliminary report which was issued on 10 November 2003.                        
Sappi"s 2003 annual report to shareholders will be available on Sappi"s website 
www.sappi.com on 19 December 2003 and will be posted to shareholders.           
Sappi Limited advises that it will also file its annual report on Form 20F for  
the year ended September 2003 ("The 20F") with the United States Securities and 
Exchange Commission ("SEC") today.  The 20F will be available on the SEC website
"EDGAR" - www.sec.gov and on www.sappi.com.                                     
The next annual general meeting of Sappi Limited will be held at 11h00 on       
Monday, 01 March 2004 in the auditorium, Ground Floor, 48 Ameshoff Street,      
Braamfontein, Johannesburg.
