WITHDRAWAL OF CAUTIONARY ANNOUNCEMENT

Shareholders are referred to the cautionary announcement released on SENS on 13 April 2017 (“the cautionary
announcement”), as well as the renewal of cautionary announcements released on SENS on 31 May 2017 and
13 July 2017, advising shareholders that the Company had engaged in negotiations with a broad-based black
economic empowerment consortium (“the Consortium”) regarding the basis on which the Consortium may
subscribe for Fairvest shares, and are advised that negotiations with the Consortium have been discontinued.

Accordingly, the cautionary announcement is withdrawn and caution is no longer required to be exercised when
dealing in the Company’s shares.
