In accordance with Listing Rule 9.6.13R(1), British American Tobacco p.l.c. (the “Company”)
confirms that Dr Marion Helmes, who has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director of
the Company with effect from 1 August 2016, has been a director of the following publicly
quoted companies in the previous five years:

her own request. In April 2012, Q-Cells SE filed for insolvency and was later acquired by
South Korean company Hanwha.

There are no further matters required to be disclosed by Dr Helmes under Listing Rule
9.6.13R.
