With reference to Woolworths Audited Results Announcement released this
morning 16 August 2001 on SENS, the following Dividend information should
read as follows:

Notice is hereby given that an increased final dividend of 8,5 cents per
share has been declared in respect of dividend No 8 for the financial year
ended 30 June 2001.

Shareholders are advised that the last day to register ("cum" the dividend)
will be Friday, 31 August 2001.  The shares will trade "ex" the dividend
from commencement of business on Monday, 3 September 2001, and the dividend
will be payable on Wednesday, 10 October 2001.
