Speaking to industry analysts at meetings in Johannesburg today and in London on
29 March 2004, Lonmin will report that production for the half year is in line  
with expectations.                                                              
Lonmin will state that significant progress had been made in negotiations with  
Impala Platinum ("Implats") to finalise arrangements for the disposal by Implats
of its 27.1% interest in Western Platinum Limited and Eastern Platinum Limited  
(which form "Lonplats").  Lonmin said that a further announcement would be made 
shortly.                                                                        
Lonmin will also report that since 22 March 2004 it has experienced a reduction 
in the electricity supply to its South African mining complex.  This will have  
no effect on the half-year production and it is currently anticipated that this 
will only have a marginal effect, if any, on full year production.  Lonmin is   
working with Eskom, the National supplier, to ensure minimum disruption, and is 
advised that the problem is expected to be eliminated within the next few weeks.
Lonmin Plc will announce interim results for the six months ended 31 March 2004 
on 13 May 2004.
