STERLING DIVIDEND RATE                                                          
The Board of Lonmin Plc has previously announced an interim dividend of 30 US   
cents per share payable on 13 August 2004 in sterling to UK shareholders        
calculated at the US dollar to sterling exchange rate on 23 July 2004 and in    
dollars to all overseas shareholders other than those on the South African      
branch register who will receive Rand.  The US dollar to sterling exchange rate 
on 23 July 2004 was $1.8364/GBP1 and accordingly the sterling dividend payable  
is 16.34 pence per share.
