Raging Bull Award Winning Funds Announced
6 February 2018 | SA Views | Mark Mayer

Last week, we took a look at 2017’s top two funds in the ASISA Real Estate General category. Next week we will continue to put property funds in the spotlight and it will be the turn of 2017’s top two property unit trusts in the Global Real Estate category. However, for this week’s piece we take a look at the winners of the much coveted Raging Bull Awards which were held in Cape Town on Wednesday, 31 January 2018.

The event marked the 22nd anniversary of the awards and its efforts in recognising top performers in the industry across a range of investment sectors. The awards acknowledge investment managers for top outright performance and best risk-adjusted performance.

Top Management Companies of the Year

Before we take a look at all the winners in the various fund categories, it is worth mentioning that Allan Gray took the title of Top South African Management Company of the Year, holding on to the award they won the previous year. PSG held on to second place, but Nedgroup Investments were nudged off the podium by this year’s third-placed management company, Coronation.

The Offshore Management Company of the Year Award was shared between Investec and Nedgroup Investments (last year’s winner).

The Best Black Owned Asset Management Company award went to Vunani Fund Managers.
