Notification of appointment of a director

In compliance with paragraphs 6.39 and 6.40 of the Debt Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited, the
board of directors of Mercedes-Benz South Africa (“the Board”) hereby notifies the Noteholders that
Dr Joachim Schmidt will retire as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mercedes-Benz South Africa,
effective 31 December 2022.

Accordingly, Mr Wilfried Porth has been appointed as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mercedes-
Benz South Africa of the Issuer with effect from 1 January 2023. Chairman of the Board of Directors of
Mercedes-Benz South Africa designate, Mr Wilfried Porth, has 36 years of working experience in
various locations such as Europe, South America, South Africa, Japan and the USA. He has served on
various Boards of Management and Supervisory Boards as a Member within several corporations. Mr
Porth’s experience spans across production, research and development, sales and human resources.

The Board thanks Dr Schmidt for his contribution the past 9 years, and welcomes Mr Porth and is
looking forward to his contribution.
