Delay in availability of the annual financial statements for the year ended 30 June 2021

DELAY IN AVAILABILITY OF THE ANNUAL FINANCIAL STATEMENTS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30 JUNE 2021

The City hereby notifies debt investors that the finalisation of its audited annual financial statements for
the year ended 30 June 2021 (“AFS”), which were due for release today, has been delayed. The Executive
Mayor, in terms of section 127(2) of the Municipal Finance Management Act, No 56 of 2003 (“MFMA”),
tabled a report at Council on 27 January 2022 setting out the reasons for the delayed tabling of the annual
report, which includes the AFS. This report (C27/01/22 [ITEM 25D]) can be accessed on the City’s website at

The AFS will therefore not be available to the public or the JSE today.

The City anticipates that the annual report, together with the AFS, will be tabled at the next Municipal
Council meeting which is scheduled for March 2022. Should there be any special Municipal Council
meetings arranged earlier than March 2022, the City will target this meeting for the tabling of the annual
report.

A further announcement will be released in due course regarding the availability of the City’s AFS.
