APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR

In terms of paragraph 3.59 of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited, shareholders and
noteholders are advised of the following appointment to the board of directors (“Board”):

Mr Paul Brendan Hanratty (Paul) has been appointed to the Board as a Non-Executive Director with
effect from 11 August 2020. Paul was appointed as Group CEO of Santam’s controlling shareholder,
Sanlam Limited, with effect from 1 July 2020.

Paul is qualified as an actuary and has significant industry insight and experience, having previously
served as the Group Chief Operating Officer at Old Mutual. Paul has also served on the boards of a
number of listed and unlisted companies.

Paul will also serve as a member of Santam’s Nominations Committee and the Human Resources
& Remuneration and Committee.

The Board welcomes Paul to Santam and looks forward to his contribution.
