Trading Statement for the year ended 31 August 2019 LABAT AFRICA LIMITED (Incorporated in the Republic of South Africa) (Registration number 1986/001616/06) (“Labat” or “the Company”) ISIN Code: ZAE 000018354 Share code: LAB TRADING STATEMENT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 AUGUST 2019 In terms of paragraph 3.4(b)(i) of the Listings Requirements of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, listed companies are required to publish a trading statement as soon as they become reasonably certain that the financial results for the next period to be reported on will be more than 20% different from those of the previous corresponding period or from a profit forecast previously provided to the market in relation to such period. The loss per share and headline loss per share is expected to reflect a loss of (24.51) cents and (7.57) cents respectively for the year ended 31 August 2019, which is more than 100% lower than the earnings and headline earning of 4.86 cents per share per the audited results for the year ended 31 August 2018. The decrease is primarily as a result of the impairment of the Force Fuel acquisition in the current financial year, the continuing reduced operating margins within the wholesale fuel industry and certain once off costs incurred in relation to the Force Fuel acquisition. The financial information, on which this trading statement is based, has not been reviewed by the Company’s auditors. The results for the year ended 31 August 2019 is expected to be published on or about 31 December 2019.
