  revised by Notice No 277 in Government Gazette No 21017 of 24 March 2000.

  APPOINTMENT OF MR PERCY SECHEMANE AS CEO

  As empowered by Section 17(1) of Notice No 277 in Government Gazette No 21017 of 24 March
  2000 (the Notice of Establishment), the board of TCTA has appointed Mr Dinizulu Kumalo Percival
  (Percy) Sechemane as Chief Executive Officer of TCTA with effect from 22 October 2018 with the
  concurrence of the Minister of Water and Sanitation.

  Mr Sechemane has spent his whole career in the engineering and infrastructure funding
  environments and his experience spans the public, municipal and private sectors.

  Since September 2008, Mr Sechemane has been CEO of Rand Water, the largest water utility in
  Africa, which supplies bulk water to an area with over 12 million customers across five provinces.

  In addition to this, in November 2015, the President appointed him to be one of the Commissioners
  of the National Planning Commission (NPC) for a five year term. He leads the NPC’s task team on
  water.

  Mr Sechemane started his career at Eskom where he spent eleven years, culminating in his
  appointment, in 2003, as General Manager for the Western Region where he managed the regional
  integration strategy between the old homeland electricity structures and those of the former Western
  Transvaal region.

  In 2005 he spent a year as Chief Operations Officer for RED 1, the pilot Regional Electricity
  Distributor envisaged for the region including City of Cape Town, 16 district municipalities and 39
  local municipalities in the Western and Northern Cape. He was responsible for the large scale
  integration of the Western Region Business Units.

  Between 2006 and 2008 he served as regional CEO of Landis+Gyr responsible for Africa.
  Landis+Gyr Ag is a Swiss-based multinational that designs and manufactures metering products for
  the electricity and gas industries. He was responsible for developing, driving and selling metering
  equipment and its back-office systems.

  Mr Sechemane holds BCom and MBA degrees from North-West University (NWU).
