Voluntary Announcement: Appointment of a Managing Director to
Huge Telecom

Gunter Engling has been appointed as Managing Director of Huge
Telecom and his appointment will take effect when he joins Huge
Telecom on 1 April 2018 after he has served his notice period with MTN.

Gunter is a top level commercial and financial executive with 14 years
of experience in the telecommunications industry, primarily with the
MTN Group, which is a leading telecommunications provider in
emerging markets. During his time at MTN, Gunter has held a number of
senior positions and has achieved substantial business successes both in
South Africa and across the African continent.

Gunter joined MTN’s Group Finance Department in 2003 and held
various senior positions throughout the organisation. In October 2016 he
was appointed as Acting Group Chief Financial Officer responsible for
Group wide finance activities and in April 2017 he was appointed as
Deputy Group Chief Financial Officer, where he held primary
responsibility for MTN Group’s core finance function.

During his 14 years with the MTN Group, Gunter held the position of
Acting Group CFO, Chief Executive Officer: Rwanda, Chief Financial
Officer: Ghana and the General Manager: Financial Planning: Nigeria,
the MTN Group’s largest operation.

While in the role of Chief Executive Officer: Rwanda, Gunter was
responsible for the performance of the operations in that country,
including overseeing the strategic direction in conjunction with relevant
Group functions.

Gunter also led many significant commercial and finance initiatives at
the MTN Group, including acting as the project lead on a tower sale for
MTN Ghana while CFO in Ghana.
Gunter has some unique attributes, including operational, financial and
African experience in the telecommunications arena. These skills will
stand him in good stead to grow and drive the development of Huge
Telecom.

Gunter earned a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting (Honours) and
CTA from the University of Stellenbosch in 1994 and 1995 respectively. In
1996 he passed the Chartered Accountants Final Qualifying
Examinations on his first attempt. Gunter went on to complete his
articles at PWC, where he held various positions until he joined MTN in
2003.
