NOTICE OF AMENDMENT TO THE GUARANTEE ISSUED BY THE GOVERNMENT OF
THE REPUBLIC OF SOUTH AFRICA UNDER THE ISSUER'S ZAR31,910,000,000
DOMESTIC MEDIUM TERM NOTE PROGRAMME

Further to the notice issued by SANRAL on 1 June 2017 wherein holders of the notes issued
under SANRAL's ZAR31,910,000,000 Domestic Medium Term Note Programme ("DMTN
Programme") where notified that SANRAL was engaging with government to increase the
maximum amount guaranteed by government under the DMTN Programme, and that
SANRAL was working with the Department of Transport and National Treasury in order to
strengthen the wording of the legal documents under the DMTN Programme, SANRAL now
wishes to inform the holders of the notes issued under the DMTN Programme that following
the approval and concurrence of the Minister of Finance with the Minister of Transport, the
wording of the guarantee under the DMTN Programme has been amended to include the
additional wording "maximum nominal amount", such that the government has
guaranteed "SANRAL's payment obligations up to a maximum nominal amount of
ZAR31,910,000,000 under its domestic medium term note programme established on 30
July 2009 and other financial instruments issued by SANRAL from time to time with
maturities of up to 25 years." Further references in the guarantee to the amount
guaranteed has similarly been amended to refer to "up to a maximum nominal amount of
ZAR31,910,000,000".
