QUARTERLY UPDATE

Shareholders are referred to the:
-      previous cautionary announcements, the last of which was dated 29 September 2017;
-      the last quarterly update which was dated 26 July 2017; and
-      SENS announcement, dated 29 July 2016, relating to the voluntary suspension of the
       Company’s shares on the JSE Limited (“JSE”) (“the Suspension”).

In line with paragraph 1(10)(c) of the JSE Listing Requirements, the Company is obliged to give an
update to the market of the state of the affairs of the Company until the Suspension is lifted.

The directors are pleased to advise that:

Discussions are continuing regarding the Company’s recapitalisation programme, the terms of which
will be announced to shareholders as soon as these have been agreed with the parties concerned;

The Company’s auditors have completed the audits of the annual financial statements for the financial
years ended 29 February 2016 and 28 February 2017. The annual financial statements have been
submitted to the JSE for review and will be released on SENS as soon as possible.

The Board is unable to give a clear indication at this stage as to when the Suspension will be lifted.
