Mr Volkwyn began his career with Sasol Limited as chemical engineer at the company’s South African operations in Sasolburg and Secunda. He transferred to Sasol’s international expansion division (Sasol Synfuels International) as a business and investment analyst conducting business intelligence, market research and investment analysis for Sasol’s international coal and gas to liquids expansion projects. In 2008, he was seconded to Sasol’s joint venture operation in Qatar to establish the business development function at this gas-to-liquids company, responsible for strategy development and implementation, capital budgeting and growth feasibility studies. In 2011 he moved to the private equity sector when he joined PSG Private Equity and serves on the boards of various portfolio companies.
