SANTAM Limited – Changes to the board of Directors


The board of directors of Santam Limited ("the board") hereby notifies its shareholders that Ms
Nomagugu Mtetwa and Mr Preston Speckmann have been appointed to the Board as Independent
Non-Executive Directors with effect from 8 February 2017.

Ms Mtetwa is a Chartered Accountant and served as a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers from
2008 to 2014. She currently also serves as the audit committee chair of the Development Bank of
South Africa.

Mr Speckmann served as the Group Finance Director of MMI Holdings Limited until his retirement
in June 2015 after 16 years of service in the Metropolitan/MMI Holdings Group. He qualified as a
Chartered Accountant in 1985.

Both Ms Mtetwa and Mr Speckmann will serve on the company’s Risk Committee. The Board looks
forward to the contribution of the new directors to Santam Limited.
