APPOINTMENT OF INDEPENDENT NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

In compliance with paragraph 3.59 of the JSE Limited Listings Requirements, the Company advises
that Dr Hugo Nelson has been appointed as an independent non-executive director to the board of
directors (“the Board”) of Coronation with effect from 7 November 2016.

Dr Nelson has a wealth of experience in the South African asset management industry, and a deep
knowledge of Coronation. He held the role of Chief Executive Officer of Coronation from 2007 to
2013, having joined the business as an equity analyst in 1999 before progressing to portfolio
manager, responsible for managing both institutional and retail assets.

Chairman Shams Pather commented: “Coronation is delighted to welcome Hugo to the Board. His
perspective and experience will be a valuable addition and we look forward to his contribution to
the business in this new capacity.”

Dr Nelson serves as a trustee of the DG Murray Trust and is a patron of George Whitfield Theological
College. Dr Nelson is a CFA charterholder and holds an MBA.
