(“the Company”)

UPDATE REGARDING INTERWASTE’S FG LANDFILL SITE, AND TWO OTHER FACILITIES

Shareholders are referred to the announcements released on the Stock Exchange News
Service on 8 June 2016, 13 June 2016 and 20 June 2016 regarding a compliance notice
site (“the compliance notice”), issued by the Gauteng Department of Agriculture and
Rural Development, which required the cessation of operations at Interwaste (Pty) Ltd’s
FG Landfill.

Today the High Court issued an order, by agreement between the parties, suspending
the compliance notice pending the final determination of Interwaste (Pty) Ltd’s
application for the review and setting aside of the compliance notice. Interwaste is of the
view, based on independent legal advice, that the issue at hand is administrative in
nature, and that operations may continue in the normal course.

Shareholders are further advised that:

    - the Company’s Klinkerstene Landfill site in Delmas in now fully operational. The
site is equipped with state of the art infrastructure including a Class B liner and
      leachate collection system; and

    - the Company’s Germiston Hub has received a licence that authorises a variety of
activities including the construction of facilities for the generation of electricity,
and the storage, treatment and recycling of various waste streams.

Both sites are strategic to the Company’s long term plans for waste management in the
province.

Shareholders will be advised of any further developments.
