SABMiller appoints Group Human Resources Director

SABMiller has appointed Johann Nel as Group Human Resources Director with effect from 14 September 2015,
in succession to Tony van Kralingen, whose intended retirement was announced in April 2015.

Johann is currently running his own human resources and organisational design consulting practice, and was
previously SABMiller’s Human Resources Director from 2002 until he retired from the group in 2008.

a significant contribution to the group, and his extensive experience in leading organisational design and change
management will serve us well as we continue to build a globally integrated organisation to optimise resource,

As announced in April, Tony van Kralingen’s current role as Director of Integrated Supply and Human Resources
is being split into two new positions on SABMiller’s Executive Committee. Tony will continue as Director of
Integrated Supply, pending the appointment of his successor, and as a member of the group’s Executive
Committee until his intended retirement at the end of December 2015.

Johann Nel

After retiring from SABMiller in 2008, Johann continued consulting and lecturing in the areas of human
resources, change management, global strategy and leadership in collaboration with a wide variety of
organisations and academic institutions. He has also been engaged in senior executive mentoring and
development coaching. He originally joined The South African Breweries Limited (SAB Ltd) in 1997 and served
as its Human Resources Director from 1998 to 2002. In 2002 he was appointed Group Human Resources
Director. Prior to joining SABMiller, Johann owned a consulting organisation, and had worked with SAB Ltd on
various major strategy, organisational development and human resources projects since 1988. He has co-
authored a book on managing productive change in organisations and was involved in initiatives to encourage
business involvement in the democratisation of South Africa in the 1980s and 1990s.
