PASSING AWAY OF GARNETT VAN NIEKERK PARKIN AND CHANGES TO THE BOARD OF
DIRECTORS

It is with great sadness that Brikor announces the untimely death of Garnett van Niekerk Parkin, Chief
Executive Officer (“CEO”) of Brikor on Saturday, 17 January 2015 in a motor car accident.

The Parkin family formed Marievale Brickworks in 1994, when land and rights to a clay deposit was
acquired from Marievale Gold Mine Limited. In 1996, Garnett Van Niekerk Parkin acquired 100% of the
shareholding. Under his leadership the Company listed on the Altx in August 2007.
Brikor would like to extend its condolences to the family.

Garnett Parkin Junior, the alternate director to the late Garnett van Niekerk Parkin, has been appointed as
acting CEO.

This announcement is in compliance with paragraph 3.59(b) of the Listings Requirements of the JSE
Limited.
