RETIREMENT OF CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

In compliance with the JSE Limited Listings Requirements, the
following information is disclosed:

Zurich today announced the retirement of Chief Financial Officer
(“CFO”), Pieter Bezuidenhout. After a successful career,
Bezuidenhout has decided to pursue personal interests that he has
put on hold for many years and will retire from his current role
on 31 May 2014.

Bezuidenhout will also step down from the following Board sub-
committees: the Asset/Liability Management Investment Committee;
Social, Ethics and Transformation Committee and the Service Level
Agreement Review Committee.

Chief Executive Officer, Edwyn O’Neill has confirmed that
Bezuidenhout has agreed to consult to Zurich. He will continue to
chair and oversee certain strategic investments and subsidiaries
as well as strategic projects aimed at delivering sustainable
profitable growth.

The Company confirmed that it is currently searching for potential
candidates who are suited to the role. Bezuidenhout’s successor
will be announced in due course.
