(“RBA” or “the company”)

TRADING UPDATE

In terms of section 3.4(b) of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited ("JSE"), companies are
required to publish a trading statement as soon as they are satisfied that a reasonable degree of
certainty exists that the financial results for the period will differ by at least 20% from the financial
results for the previous corresponding period.

Shareholders are advised that the company is in the process of finalising its interim results for the
six months ended 30 June 2013 and advises of the following:

-    the loss is expected to be between 2.45 and 2.55 cents per share compared to a earnings
      of 0.13 cents per share for the comparable period;
-    the headline loss is expected to be between 2.62 and 2.72 cents per share compared to
      headline earnings of 0.44 cents per share for the comparable period.

The decrease in earnings and headline earnings is a result of low production volumes with only
three major projects being under construction during the period i.e. Braamfischerville, Southern
Gateway and Protea Glen.

The financial information on which this trading statement is based has not been reviewed or
reported on by the company`s auditors. The results for the six months ended 30 June 2013 are
expected to be released before the end of September 2013.
