UPDATE ON THE SALE BY ILIAD AFRICA LIMITED (THROUGH ITS WHOLLY OWNED
SUBSIDIARIES ILIAD AFRICA TRADING (PTY) LTD AND UNITED TUBE (PTY) LTD)
("ILIAD”) OF ITS WHOLESALE TIMBER BUSINESS

Shareholders are referred to the SENS announcement dated 18 March 2013 and are further
advised that Iliad is pleased to announce that on 24 July 2013 the Competition Commission
reported that it had unconditionally approved the sale transaction of Iliad’s Wholesale Timber
Business to York Timbers Proprietary Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of York Timber
Holdings Limited (registration number 1916/004890/06) (‘York’) (‘the sale transaction’).

Update on Conditions Precedent and Effective Date

Conditions precedent
The transaction was subject to inter alia, the approval of the sale transaction by the
Competition authorities in terms of the Competition Act, which condition has been fulfilled.

Effective date
The effective date of the transaction is 1 August 2013.

The rationale, sale consideration, details and overview of the transaction together with the pro
forma financial effects of the sale transaction remain unchanged as previously published on
18 March 2013.
