Revised Trading Update

In terms of paragraph 3.4 (b) of the JSE Limited (“JSE”) Listings Requirements, companies are required to
publish a trading statement as soon as they become reasonably certain that the financial results for the period
to be reported on will differ by more than 20% from the previous corresponding period. Accordingly, a review
of the financial results for the year ending 28 February 2013 by management has indicated that the earnings
per share is expected to increase by more than 25% when compared to those reported for the previous
corresponding period.

Shareholders are referred to the announcement on SENS on 2 May 2013 and are advised that Gooderson is
currently finalizing its results for the year ended 28 February 2013 and advises that the earnings per share
(“EPS”) is expected to be around 15.00 cents to 17.00 cents compared to the previous corresponding period of
3.34 cents. The large increase is due to profits earned on the sale of the business and assets of the Beach Hotel
in July 2012. The headline earnings per share (“HEPS”) are expected to increase by between 3.2 cents and 4.00
cents compared to the previous corresponding period of 3.27 cents

The financial information on which this trading statement is based has not been reviewed or reported on by
Gooderson’s auditors. The company’s financial results for the year ended 28 February 2013 are expected to
be released on or about 30 May 2013.
