AIRPORTS COMPANY SOUTH AFRICA LIMITED – APPOINTMENT OF MANAGING
DIRECTOR AND FINANCIAL DIRECTOR
INSTRUMENT CODE: AIR01, AIR02, AIR02U, AIR03, AIR03U, AIR04U,
AIRL01, AIRL02
Dated: 17 May 2013

Dear industry colleagues,

In July this year, Airports Company South Africa Limited will reach
an important milestone of two decades in existence. The time is
therefore opportune for a fresh approach to the challenges and
opportunities that present themselves as well as set Airports
Company South Africa, and the local aviation industry, on a new
pathway. This is particularly important within the context of the
recently approved ten-year plan for Airports Company South Africa.

It is within this context that I am pleased to inform you that, on
Wednesday, 15 May 2013, the Cabinet approved the appointment of Mr
Bongani Maseko as Managing Director of Airports Company South
Africa.

The Board is of the firm view that Mr Maseko is well suited for the
position as he has the requisite leadership abilities, in-depth
knowledge of Airports Company South Africa’s business and the
confidence of the broader leadership team.

Mr Maseko does not really need introduction as he has been with the
business since 1999. Prior to his appointment as Acting Managing
Director, he was the Group Executive: Airport Operations since
September 2004. His responsibilities included the day-to-day
operations at all of the company’s airports. He also spent three-
and-half-years leading O.R. Tambo International Airport as its
General Manager.

Mr Maseko has a degree in Aviation Business Administration from
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida (USA), where his
studies focused on airport and airline management. He continued his
studies at the University of California in Airport Systems Planning
and Design and Airport Ground Transportation Planning. He gained
considerable experience at San Francisco International Airport in
the USA, where he worked in various capacities for eight years.

Let me also take this opportunity to introduce Ms Maureen Manyama-
Matome, who was appointed Financial Director, with effect from 8
April 2013. Ms Manyama-Matome is a seasoned Executive and a
Chartered Accountant (CA) SA. Prior to accepting Airports Company
South Africa’s employment offer, she was the Executive Financial
Director at SAFCOL. She also acted as CEO at the same organisation.

Ms Manyama-Matome obtained an MBA degree from GIBS and a BCom Hons
in Taxation from the University of Pretoria. She has distinguished
herself as a business leader and was a semi-finalist in the
2010/2011 Most Influential Women in Business and Government Awards
and, the recipient of a Tuks Alumni Laureate award in 2012.

As we congratulate both Mr Maseko and Ms Manyama-Matome, we trust
that Airports Company South Africa and its stakeholders will provide
them with the necessary support as they chart a new chapter for the
organisation.

Sincerely,
Ms Busisiwe Mabuza
Chairman
