Mr Tafa has been a non-executive director of Wilderness since 2010. He is a vastly experienced business and transactional lawyer and is currently the non-executive chairman of Stanbic Bank Botswana. Mr Tafa, who is a citizen of Botswana, is also the senior and managing partner in the leading Gaborone-based law firm, Collins, Newman & Co. Mr Tafa will replace Mr Malcolm McCulloch who has been chairman of the board since 2003 and will continue to make his valuable contribution to the Group by remaining a non-executive director on the Board. In addition, Mr Michael Tollman is appointed as Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Wilderness. Mr Tollman first joined Wilderness in 2005 as a director of Wilderness Safaris Investment and Finance Pty Ltd and was appointed as a non-executive director of Wilderness Holdings in 2010. He has extensive experience in the travel industry worldwide and currently is executive chairman and acting CEO of Cullinan Holdings Ltd, one of South Africa’s leading travel groups listed on the JSE. It is also noted that the search for a Chief Executive Officer that was announced on 21 February 2013 is at an advanced stage and a statement in this regard can be expected in the second quarter of this year.
