Trading statement

In terms of the JSE Limited Listings Requirements, companies are required to publish a trading
statement as soon as they are reasonably certain that the financial results for the current
reporting period will be more than 20% different than that of the prior comparative period.

Further to the above, Brimstone expects to report earnings per share of between 317.1 cents to
380.5 cents, and headline earnings per share of between 314.5 cents to 377.4 cents for the year
ended 31 December 2012, which is up from earnings per share and headline earnings per share
of 184.8 cents and 176.3 cents, respectively, reported for the year ended 31 December 2011.

Shareholders are advised that the above information has not been reviewed or reported on by the
Company’s auditors and that the Company’s results for the year ended 31 December 2012 are
expected to be published on or about 5 March 2013.
