DECLARED DIVIDEND ANNOUNCEMENT ON KUMBA IRON ORE LIMITED HOT ENHANCED DIVIDEND SECURITIES –
(“KIOIHB”)


The Directors of Kumba Iron Ore Limited have declared a final dividend of 1,250 cents payable on Monday, 18
March 2013 to ordinary holders recorded in the books of the company at the close of business on Friday, 15
March 2013.

In terms of the new Dividend Tax effective 1 April 2012, the following additional information is disclosed:

1)   local dividend tax rate is 15%;
2)   STC credits utilised is 0.90691 cents per share;
3)   net local dividend amount is 1,062.63604 cents per share for shareholders liable to pay the new Dividends
     Tax and 1,250cents per share for shareholders exempt from paying the new Dividends Tax; and
4)   the issued share capital of Kumba Iron Ore Limited is 322,058,624 ordinary shares; and
5)   Kumba Iron Ore Limited Income Tax Number: 9586/481/15/3; and
6)   Investec Bank Limited Income Tax Number: 9675/053/71/5


Accordingly, the holders KIOIHB will receive a Kumba Iron Ore Limited final dividend amount per security on,
Monday, 18 March 2013 in terms of the Cession clause incorporated in the Supplement between the holders and
Investec Bank Limited. The last day to trade (“cum” the interim dividend) in order to participate in the final cash
dividend will be Friday, 8 March 2013.

KIOIHB Hot Enhanced Dividend Securities will commence trading “ex” the final dividend from the commencement
of business on Monday, 11 March 2013, and the record date will be Friday, 15 March 2013.
