APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR AND INFORMATION ON THE INCOMING CHIEF EXECUTIVE
OFFICER


The Board of Directors of Beige is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Michael
(“Mike”) Allan as an executive director of Beige. Mike joined the Beige team with effect
from 15 January 2013 in the capacity of CEO-designate and, as part of a hand-over, will work
closely with the current CEO, Mark Di Nicola, until Mark’s resignation which becomes
effective at the end of April 2013. Thereafter Mike will take over as the new CEO of Beige.

Mike obtained a B.Com degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal and thereafter
qualified as a management accountant, having completed the Associated Chartered
Management Accountant qualification through The UK Chartered Institute of Management
Accountants. Mike joined Unilever in 1987 as an accountant and was promoted to Financial
Director level following a career in South Africa and Europe. During this time he played a
leading role in the negotiations between Beige and Unilever that resulted in the acquisition
by Beige of Quality Products (Pty) Ltd. Whilst at Unilever, Mike also headed up new
business development and, among other achievements, successfully formed a new franchise
division under a leading brand to enhance and expand the product range. On leaving
Unilever, Mike was appointed as the CEO of BioScience Brands Limited, a position he has
held for the past four years.

The Beige board welcomes Mike to the Group and believes that his understanding of
factories, experience in commerce both in a corporate and entrepreneurial environment, as
well as knowledge of the FMCG industry and contract manufacturing stand him in good
stead to lead Beige into the next era of growth.
