Circular to Alert Steel Shareholders

Shareholders are referred to the Circular to Alert Steel Shareholders dated 2 October 2012 (‘the
Circular’) that was prepared by the Company’s Designated Adviser (‘DA’) at the time, Questco
Corporate Advisors (‘QuestCo’). QuestCo resigned on 26 October 2012 as DA of Alert Steel, and has
withdrawn their sign-off on the working capital for the Circular.
It was announced on SENS on 26 October 22012 that Exchange Sponsors (2008) Proprietary Limited
(‘Exchange Sponsors’) was appointed as the Company’s Designated Adviser with immediate effect.
At the request of the JSE Limited (‘JSE’), Exchange Sponsors has provided the JSE with a sign-off on
the working capital statement contained in the Circular in compliance with the JSE Listings
Requirements.
