           APPOINTMENT TO THE BOARD AND CHANGE IN FUNCTION OF A DIRECTOR



Appointment of independent non-executive director

In compliance with paragraph 3.59 of the Listings Requirements of JSE Limited, the board of directors of
B&W (“the Board”) hereby notifies its shareholders that Mr Roger Pitt has been appointed as an
independent non-executive director and as a member of the audit committee with effect from 17 September
2012.

Roger is a chartered accountant, with a BCom(Hons) degree in accounting from the University of
Johannesburg. After completing his articles he moved into corporate finance where he gained valuable
experience within the full range of corporate actions. He also attended board and audit committee meetings
of AltX listed clients in order to advise them on statutory and regulatory requirements. Roger currently sits on
the board of and chairs the audit committee of FedGroup.

The Board welcomes Roger and looks forward to his contribution.

Change in function of director

In compliance with paragraph 3.59 of the Listings Requirements of JSE Limited, the Board hereby notifies
its shareholders that the function of Mr Wolf Wassermeier has changed from that of independent non-
executive director to lead independent non-executive director, with immediate effect.
