UPDATE TO SHAREHOLDERS

Shareholders are referred to the SENS announcement dated 20 October 2011 containing the summarised
audited Group results for the period ended 28 February 2011.

The application for the liquidation of the Company brought on 7 October 2010 by Mr CV du Plessis, a
minority shareholder in both Thabex and Angel Diamonds (Pty) Ltd (in liquidation) (“Angel Diamonds”), was
dismissed with costs in the North Gauteng High Court on 30 August 2012.

Shareholders are also referred to the announcement released on SENS on 14 June 2012 relating to the
judgement in the interlocutory application for security for costs in Case Number CIV/APN/664/2010 (“the
Case”) in the High Court of Lesotho. Judgement was handed down on 30 August 2012 against Messrs
Mosebo and Engelbrecht with costs and they have to provide security for costs for an amount of R250 000 in
the Case.
